Say what you will about the party animals that submit postings in this blog, but they sure do know a good time when they see one coming. Now, they apparently have their sights set on Miami Beach Cinematheque’s unveiling / 2011 Oscar celebration at (of all places) City Hall in South Beach.

Anyone who will be in New York on April 29th (as we’ll be) should consider attending the National Arts Club premiere screening of Danny Schechter’s new film, PLUNDER: THE CRIME OF OUR TIME, which approaches the Financial Crisis as a crime story –a point of view held by many Americans.
Indie Film Explores Jamaica’s Underground Reggae Scene

Miami has a huge reggae music and indie film scene, and this weekend the Florida premiere screening of the award-winning indie documentary “RiseUp” is taking place at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Jamaica’s underground music scene is the film’s subject and it is directed by Miami local (and UM grad) Luciano Blotta.
