“Exceptional Graphic Works” revealed how important Latin American visual artists use prints to explore thematic concerns along their traditional media. The principals of Cremata Fine Art, in light of the spectacular success of the first installment of this exhibit, were convinced that there is a market thirsty for premium quality graphic works. The choice now includes leading works by Cuban and other Hispanic masters as well as important European artists rigorously selected for quality.
Acquisition trips to Spain, France, Italy and Switzerland, now benefit South Florida collectors. Rare prints by legendary sculptor Gay García and South Florida’s Baruj Salinas have surfaced in private hands along with exotic illustrations by Wifredo Lam of French poems. Exquisite small-format prints by the neo-Expressionist Paris-based Gina Pellón show the delicacy of her aesthetic. A rare Humberto Calzada will prove eye-opening to South Florida audiences. This exhibit marks the introduction of legendary printmaker Pepe Herrera to Miami. His exceptional work in Europe warrants State-side attention. “Exceptional Graphic Works II ” is a diverse and dynamic inquiry into artistic experimentation through the use of prints.
